Anambra State has been allocated 10,000 slots under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda free JAMB registration scheme, part of a broader initiative set to benefit 50,000 students across the South-East region.
Each beneficiary in Anambra will receive ₦8,500 to cover the cost of registration for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, an intervention aimed at easing the financial burden on families and expanding access to higher education.
The South-East Renewed Hope Agenda’s National Coordinator, Belusochukwu Enwerem, who inaugurated the programme in Anambra, described the exercise as more than a formal launch but a movement of hope and opportunity demonstrating that financial constraints should not define the future of students.
He emphasised that education is a solid foundation for sustainable development and framed the gesture as a deliberate investment in thousands of future professionals including doctors, engineers, lawyers, teachers, and entrepreneurs.
Enwerem clarified that the scheme is strategic empowerment aligned with the Renewed Hope vision of youth inclusion and human capital development, urging beneficiaries to prepare diligently for their examinations and encouraging parents and guardians by assuring that the programme is designed to lessen financial pressure while affirming the importance of their children’s educational aspirations. Several beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that it has relieved their families of a significant barrier to pursuing tertiary education.
