Breaking News 🗞️ JAMB Begins Accreditation of CBT Centres for 2026 UTME.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has started the process of accrediting Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across Nigeria for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

This nationwide exercise began on Monday, 15 December 2025, and 848 CBT centres are being checked to make sure they meet JAMB’s standards before they can be used for the 2026 UTME.

During a virtual meeting with key officials, JAMB Registrar Prof. Is-haq Oloyede told the accreditation teams to work carefully and only approve centres that meet all the rules. Centres that do not meet the requirements will not be approved.

The accreditation teams are looking at things like computer systems, security systems (like CCTV), and other important equipment. Only centres that pass a system readiness test will be inspected physically.

JAMB also gave safety instructions to the teams and said security arrangements are in place so they can work without unnecessary risks.

With this accreditation exercise ongoing, UTME 2026 registration is expected to start soon. JAMB candidates are advised to begin preparing for the exams using CBT practice tools and apps.
