BREAKING: JAMB Says About One Million Candidates Have Registered for 2026 UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has disclosed that about one million candidates have so far registered for the ongoing 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The announcement was made in the Board’s latest press statement published on Monday as the nationwide registration exercise enters its third week.

JAMB stated that the registration exercise, which began on January 26, 2026 will close on Thursday, February 26, 2026, with no extensions or deadline shifts under any circumstances.

The Board emphasised that this deadline is final and strictly aligned with its operational calendar and those of sister examination bodies.

According to the statement, many candidates have already procured their ePINs and are expected to complete the registration process before the deadline. JAMB also cautioned candidates against delaying registration, warning that last-minute rushes could lead to avoidable issues.

In the release, the examination body condemned misinformation and deliberate attempts to mislead candidates with rumours of possible deadline extensions, calling such tactics unhelpful and misleading.

Prospective UTME candidates are being urged to finalise their registration ahead of the deadline to avoid disappointment and costly last-minute complications.
