The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced that candidates registered for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) can now correct their subject combinations.
In a public notice released via its official handle, JAMB informed 2026 UTME candidates that the correction window is now open and advised affected applicants to take immediate action.
According to the Board, candidates who discovered errors in their selected UTME subject combinations are required to visit any of JAMB’s accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres to effect the necessary changes.
What This Means for 2026 UTME Candidates
Subject combination plays a critical role in determining eligibility for admission into various courses in Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. An incorrect combination could automatically disqualify a candidate from being considered for their chosen programme — regardless of their UTME score.
By opening the correction window, JAMB is giving candidates the opportunity to align their subject selections with the official admission requirements for their intended courses.
Where to Make the Correction
JAMB clearly stated that candidates must visit any of its accredited facilities to process the correction. Changes cannot be done through third parties or unofficial cybercafés. Candidates are therefore advised to:
- Visit only JAMB-approved CBT centres
- Go along with their registration details
- Confirm the correct subject combination for their course before making changes
Why Candidates Should Act Promptly
Admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria is highly competitive. Errors in subject combinations have in previous years led to loss of admission opportunities for many candidates.
Education stakeholders often advise candidates to cross-check their course requirements using the official JAMB brochure before completing UTME registration or making corrections.
Candidates are encouraged to act promptly to avoid last-minute rush or possible closure of the correction window.
Final Advisory
All 2026 UTME candidates are advised to verify their subject combinations immediately and ensure they align with the requirements of their intended course of study.
For official updates, candidates should rely only on verified JAMB communication channels.
Please endeavour to share this news with other JAMB 2026 candidates. Thank you
